In the midst of her first year living in Waco, Shamerah Lowe has seen Waco as a small city, friendly people, and Baylor University. However, she’s begun to unravel the layers of Waco’s Community. She’s actively involved with the Healthy Waco Women organization who discusses the importance of health, mental and physical, and how women of Waco can find the best health resources that can be offered.
By becoming a part of the Healthy Waco Women organization, attending theater performances and being a dignified, loyal female member of Mclennan Community Colleges Black Student Association allowed her to see the pride and passion of a community who calls Waco their home. Shamerah is continuing to take the opportunity to interact with loyal Wacoan’s and creates connections to capture what Authentic Waco is and is looking forward to sharing part of that experience on her MCC blog page.
